Save the Date!  Fareta African drum and dance camp in the California hills is happening July 11-18.  Details to follow.
 
Abdoulaye at Florida African Dance Festival June 10-12

Join the African Caribbean Dance Theatre, Inc. in its presentation of the 13th Annual Florida African Dance Festival (FADF) June 10 – 12, 2010 in Tallahassee, Florida at the Tallahassee Community College. FADF is a 3-day conference that features internationally renowned artists in dance and drum workshops and an exciting performance concert. Abdoulaye is on the faculty. Other highlights include special dance workshops for children, festival vendor marketplace, natural hair show, and health focus on cardiovascular disease.  For registration information go to www.fadf.org.

 

 
Join Abdoulaye in Guinea in 2011

Good news  for those of you who want to go to Guinea.  Abdoulaye will be leading a trip to his homeland from January 2 through 16, 2011.  That gives you plenty of time to save your pennies.  Click here for trip details.

 
Abdoulaye Joins Fellow Guineans to Create "Message From Guinea"

United in their passion for sharing their culture on a global level, Message From Guinea is a group of extraordinary Seattle-based West African artists who have come together to spread a message of joy, unity, and transformation.   Employing powerful rhythms, hi-energy dances, and melodic songs steeped in the rich cultural heritage of their home country of Guinea, West Africa, Message From Guinea opens hearts, ignites passion, and enlivens audiences.  Abdoulaye and his Guinean "brothers" are ready to share their message with schools, community groups and at private events. click here for booking info.


 


 

 

 
Abdoulaye Moves to Seattle

Good news for you folks on the West Coast, and sad news for those in the east. Abdoulaye Sylla has moved to Seattle. We want to thank those of you who have supported us and come to classes, workshops, and performances over the years, as well as those of you who helped create these opportunities. We will miss you all.  We are looking forward to new friends and partnerships in Seattle.

Ongoing Classes

Abdoulaye Starts Sunday Seattle Classes

Abdoulaye Sylla has begun a Sunday late afternoon dance class at Center House, 4th Floor, Studio G, Seattle Center, 305 Harrison Street, Seattle, 98109.

Classes run through Sunday, November 22nd.  Classes are from 5:00-6:30 pm.  $15 for adults and $10 for children age 7-12.  This is a high energy, mixed level class taught in a welcoming, supportive atmosphere with live drumming accompaniment.  Drop-ins are welcome.
